10 day Trip to Morocco

Arrive at any time to Casablanca airport, and transfer to your Hotel in the town.

Today is the real start of our 9 day trip to Morocco. You will see one of Casablanca’s most magnificent sites this morning, the enormous structure known as the Mosque of Hassan II. The enormous structure, which is one of the few places of worship open to non-Muslims, is second in size only to the great mosque in Mecca. It is partially on land and partially over water. In the future, depart Casablanca and go north along the coast to Rabat, Morocco’s opulent capital and first imperial metropolis. Start your visit with a stroll through the souks and medina, then explore the lovely Kasbah des Oudaias neighborhood. Here, you can enjoy a complimentary mint tea in a hidden café with views of the Bou Regreg river and the ocean. Continue your trek after that to visit.

You will explore the medina of Meknes this morning, the old walled area of the city, and its picturesque streets. Exploring this lesser-known medina while the inhabitants go about their everyday lives has a special charm. Visit the granaries, the Moulay Ismail shrine, and a neighborhood market selling fruits, vegetables, and treats. Continue your journey to the Volubilis Roman Ruins, where a local guide will tour you around and assist you in picturing the thriving city that once stood there. Arrive at the Riad, a wonderfully renovated oasis in the middle of the medina, where you will be spending your Feature Stay for the next two nights, in the city of Fes. This structure is a visual delight, with everything from spectacular mosaic floors to carved cedar wood ceilings and everything in between. Unwind in the hammam, unwind in the spacious rooms with contemporary conveniences, or go to the top terrace for panoramic views of Fes. You are cordially invited to a local family’s home for a pastilla meal this evening, so get ready for a feast. As you converse with your welcoming hosts about life in Fes, find out how the well-known Moroccan pie is created.

Today, this is one relaxing day during our 9 day trip to Morocco, you see the enormous, beautifully preserved medieval old city and medina of Fes. As your guide explains intriguing customs and traditions of the Moroccan people, you can explore the specialty areas that split the souk as you meander through the winding lanes and passageways, passing donkeys stacked high with products. It is not difficult to picture oneself in the Middle Ages when you are surrounded by historical khans, madrasas, dye pits, stalls filled with fruits, herbs, and soups, and where the sound of copper being hammered and the fragrance of spices permeate the air. Visit the tanneries, Funduq al-Najjarin, a magnificent inn from the 18th century, and El-Attarine Madrasa while exploring the old city.

Travel from Fes to Bin el-Ouidane, stopping frequently to observe the constantly shifting Moroccan landscape. You can have a totally unique experience and gain priceless insight into the Amazigh (Berber) family’s distinctive way of life by visiting them in the Middle Atlas Mountains. The family will give a home-cooked meal of cous cous made with materials sourced locally and teach how to create the ideal cup of mint tea. Find out about their beliefs, practices, and daily lives as they live on the rim of these cloud-piercing peaks. Arrive in Bin el-Ouidane, a little community that is wonderfully situated on the lake’s edge and hemmed in by sheer rocks. Your lodging is set on the edge of the sizable, sparkling lake at the base of the Atlas Mountains.

You’ll be moving from Bin el-Ouidane to Marrakech today. There is no need to rush because the route’s landscape is constantly interesting, and you will enjoy a stop at the stunning Ouzoud Falls along the way. When you arrive in Marrakech, make your way to the enormous Djemaa el-Fna square, one of the biggest public areas in the entire world and unique to this city. Bring your appetite because this afternoon your leader will take you on a special tasting session where you’ll sample a variety of seasonal delights like freshly squeezed orange juice and stuffed Moroccan pancakes. The best way to experience the food here is like a local, so make sure to dress to impress. The square becomes a bustle of activity at night, making the nights here equally as enjoyable as the days. You have the evening to yourself to explore. You may take in a supper on one of the restaurant balconies that face out into the bustling square and the Koutoubia Mosque.

Today, meet your guide after breakfast and go on a morning tour of the old medina, passing by the humming souks that are the heart of the city. Discover the several salons and chambers that make up Bahia Palace, as well as the serene grounds that are scented with orange blossoms. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque; while only Muslims are permitted inside, the structure’s renowned minaret is a sight to behold. Then proceed to Djemaa el-Fna by returning through the streets of the old medina. You can continue exploring for the remainder of the day. View the harbor’s colorful vessels before exploring the fish souk. Here, you’ll pick out the catch of the day and head to a restaurant with a strong local flavor. There, you’ll follow their lead and hand over your market purchase to be grilled for the tastiest meal possible. Additionally, your guide will take you to the fresh vegetable markets where you may select the salads and vegetables that will go with your seafood lunch. Together with the rest of your group, savor a delectable dinner. You have the evening to learn more about Essaouira.

You are free to continue your explorations in the morning. If you want to experience the laid-back pace of this Moroccan town with a distinct European beach flavor, consider purchasing some local goods from the eye-catching market stalls or taking in one more cup of coffee in the square.
