Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech

Arrive in time to meet your fellow travelers for a welcome gathering this evening. Your arrival transfer is included.

Day 2Marrakech - Ouarzazate

Today, we start our 9 days Tour from Marrakech city. As we travel south through the breathtaking valleys of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, we wind past red slopes and green terraces before pausing to have a picnic lunch next to a glistening river. When you get to Ouarzazate, also known as the “gateway to the Sahara,” go behind the scenes of a movie studio to observe how the nearby dunes have appeared on film..

Day 3Ouarzazate - Merzouga

Today, make your way to the desert village of Merzouga by passing through craggy peaks and palm oasis. Get comfortable in our hotel close to the amazing Erg Chebbi, a vast sea of dunes created by wind-blown sand. Enjoy a traditional Amazigh meal as the sun sets, then spread a blanket out on the desert sand for an evening of stargazing. Spend the night at a lodge

Day 4 Merzouga

Ride camels over the dunes this morning. Where you will spend a nice night at a camp near bid dunes.

Day 5Merzouga - Dades Gorge

Explore the untamed terrain of the Dades Gorge, a striking and vibrant valley shaped by the Dades River. Visit a nearby village for lunch to sample a delicacy like authentic Amazigh pizza! Learn about the incredible geology that created the bizarre and spectacular rock formations of the Gorge as you stroll around the valley on a guided tour. Enjoy some free time this evening to unwind at the hotel.

Day 6Dades Gorge - Aït Ben Haddou

To reach the historic fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, go via the Ounila Valley. Clay dwellings are crammed together in a traditional ksar behind protective walls. Explore the narrow lanes that wind through the old buildings while keeping watch from the ramparts made of clay brick and admiring the lush oasis that surrounds this massive fort. Enjoy a wonderful supper and a hands-on tagine cooking instruction to entice your palate.

Day 7Aït Ben Haddou - Marrakech

Travel across the mountains to Marrakech, renowned as the “red city” for its red clay-built walls, homes, and numerous mosques. Visit a nearby henna parlor to have your hands decorated in this ancient temporary tattooing technique after checking into your hotel and taking some time to recover. Then, discover the bustling Djemaa el Fna, Marrakech’s main plaza that was once an old marketplace. Enjoy your free time to explore Marrakech more afterward.

Day 8Marrakech

As the citywide call to prayer reverberates, get up. After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the medina’s winding, confusing streets, which are lined with vibrant shops bursting with rugs, spices, and other items. You might choose to spend the rest of the day independently touring Marrakech or the Marjorelle Garden. Gather for a farewell supper in the evening in a classic riad, a large home with a sumptuous interior courtyard.
